I am SO sorry it’s been soooooo long since I’ve blogged, y’all! Holy moly, how is it already almost JULY?!!!!! I am usually pretty good about keeping up with my blog, but it’s been tough these last couple of months; I know some of you come here for senior portrait ideas, so I promise to get back on track 🙂
This year has been nonstop for me; I created and launched an online course and coaching program for senior photographers in February, as well as other digital products – plus, a new free facebook group for photographers as well. I love teaching, so developing this side of my business has been incredibly rewarding and eye-opening in so many ways. It’s also been REALLY challenging because I still very much run a successful senior photography business, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I wanted to blog about my 2020 Influencer Team for a while now, but I wasn’t able to shoot with all of them until just recently. I had my first session with them back in March for this shoot – I rented the coolest studio in DTLA and had it styled by Desert Republic with killer wardrobe. All but three girls were able to attend and we got some really amazing stuff – including a video by my talented husband Andrew 🙂

Shooting with these girls this year is going to be SO fun! I put together a “makeup party” in May as well for my Elite Level team members, so we had the opportunity to just hang out while Jami taught and shared all her makeup with them. This was something I had wanted to do for a long time now, so I’m glad we were able to finally make it happen.
The girls were able to bring a friend with them so they could do makeup on each other if they wanted to because these types of photo sessions are always more fun with friends. It was also a great opportunity for them to bond with each other – something my teams in the past said they enjoyed most.
This is one of the reasons I love having a team – all the fun things we do together; it’s not just about taking photos, although that is obviously a great perk. It’s also about creating relationships and getting to know these girls on a deeper level.
Hands down, that is my favorite part about running an Influencer Model Program.

This year has been a whirlwind already, and once August hits, it’ll be even crazier. That’s typically when the new incoming senior classes will realize that they need to book a session and by that point, it’s almost too late to find a date before the end of the year! I only shoot about 50 seniors a year – that’s by design – but it means I can’t get everyone in 🙁
I’ve also gotten a ton of inquiries lately about people wanting to join my 2020 Influencer Model Team, but I signed up my 2020 team back in January …. so I don’t have any more spots open for that – but I DO have a few dates open for Class of 2020.

Earlier this month I put together a COMBO shoot with both my teams – Class of 2019 and Class of 2020. I’ve wanted to do a “Big Sis, Lil Sis” shoot for YEARS, but it was always really hard to get it on the calendar … the end of the school year is just madness for everyone leading up to graduation. But I made it happen this year, y’all!
A lot of my 2019 girls know a lot of the 2020 girls – from school and cheer, etc. so it was just awesome doing this with both teams. It was mainly a fun beach day with burgers, s’mores and photos 🙂
I invited parents too because I wanted them to just take an afternoon and chill with their daughters; to be there to see the fun and it was also a great opportunity for me to chat with them – something that’s hard when I’m shooting the styled sessions. It was a June Gloom type of day at the beach in Malibu, but it was perfect for that SoCal summer night vibe with sweaters and jeans … that’s my favorite (maybe because we are spoiled here with so much sunshine lol)
