Keely’s the next 2022 Influencer on the blog!   We shot her session in Hollywood up at Griffith Observatory and it was a gorgeous day …

It can get a little crazy at the observatory, depending on the day, but we lucked out that there weren’t too many people there.  I like to use the area around the observatory instead of shooting ON it lol (that’s where most of the people are).  Keely also wanted a natural vibe to her session as well as city overlooks, so that’s what we got!

She brought lots of great outfits, but this white dress is one of mine from my style closet – lots of girls have worn it over the last three years but it looks different on each one.  Keely is NO stranger to being photographed, by the way.  She did a lot of acting as a kid and she is very active in pageants, so she’s kinda easy to shoot 🙂

Keely’s a senior at West Ranch High School here in Santa Clarita and also loves to sing (she’s in the school choir) and she is still active in Girl Scouts which I love!  (I was a Girl Scout leader way back when my daughter was young).

We got some amazing light as the sun started to set over Los Angeles … my favorite kind of light!  Her outfit here at the end is probably my fave – so 90’s (I am pretty sure I had this same look back in 1995 lol)

It’s kind of amazing how a small hiking trail can look like so many different locations; this is literally a small path and just shooting both sides of it.  I love looking out over Los Angeles – I’ll always be a small town Louisiana girl at heart ❤️

My goal with any session is to create as much variety as possible in the time we have; not just with wardrobe but with our location and with lighting as well.  Of course, having Jami at the session is always super helpful to change up makeup and hair and for touchups as well.  We had Kailey do hair for Keely’s session because she is training under Jami to be my second in command when Jami can’t make a session 🙂   She is also helping with my Influencer Team sessions!

It’s hard to believe, but school will be starting before you know it – that’s when I always get a huge influx of senior portrait inquiries; however, by then I am usually almost sold out through October.  Most schools have a deadline for yearbook pics, and even though my clients can’t use the images we take as their senior portait in the yearbook, they CAN use them in senior ads – and those deadlines are also in Fall.

All this to say – don’t wait to book that session!

I am pretty booked and only have a couple of sessions open in August and September.  October is already pretty full ….
