PHOTOGRAPHER + LIFE/BIZ COACH

This session obviously holds a special place in my heart ….. my girl and her bff since kindergarten!

I know it may seem like I would photograph my own kids all the time, but truth be told …. I don’t have time usually.  Those who know me, know that I work pretty much 24/7 and rarely have time to even sit and watch a movie with my family, much less shoot photos with them…… it’s something I am working on changing this year.

I promised myself that 2017 would be my year of getting back to “me” .. and my family.  My kids are all about to leave the nest …. I want to savor this time with them.

We decided to take a last minute trip to Northern California last November … just us girls — myself, Avery and Kailey and her mom and MY bff Charlene — and course Jami!   🙂

These girls are more like sisters … have been since the age of four.  We did a special session with them at age thirteen, so we followed it up by this one – for age sixteen.   Next year, my daughter will be a SENIOR … so lots more photosessions to come….

The girls wanted a redwood forest ….. I was definitely on board for this!  My favorite place in the United States….

The California Redwoods are magical …. just an amazing place full of life and clean crisp air.  The girls had a blast running through the forest – and I just love these images of them!

I have had the privilege of watching Kailey grow into a gorgeous young woman … and she has the most kind heart.  Always there for my daughter – no matter what.  This kind of friendship does not come along often – I’m so very grateful for K and her family….they have helped me feel a sense of family here in CA – where we are so far from our own relatives.

I still can’t believe my little girl is on the precipice of adulthood….not sure how this all happened so quickly.  But she is STUNNING … as well as smart/funny/strong-willed/empathetic.  Could not be more proud.

We headed to San Fransisco for some shots there too – because why not?
