This might be one of my favorite sessions I’ve ever shot…..it was just one of those days where all the stars aligned and everything worked out seamlessly.
For starters, we had the opportunity to shoot at an amazing location. It is literally a movie studio.
Literally — A Rancho Deluxe (wipeout is filmed there) and we were fortunate enough to be allowed to shoot there because the owners, Steve and his wife Diane, are family friends with Sarah’s parents. I also want to mention how GRACIOUS they were to us! We were given free reign of their gorgeous, sprawling property – AND treated like old friends. Thank you for the hospitality, Steve & Diane!!!!
This, combined with Sarah’s AMAZING natural ability to model, along with gorgeous hair and makeup by Jami Cox…. well, it was an epic day. EPIC.
We decided to start in the dollhouse.
Yep. A real dollhouse — complete with princess dresses and pristine tea sets…. so I thought we could use one of the adorable lace crowns Stacy Herb made for me a couple of years ago…. I think it fits perfectly, don’t you? Sarah rocked this…. I can’t say it enough… the girl is A DREAM to photograph. So natural, so beautiful and SO fun.

Then we explored the rest of the property – the pond, the western town, the villa….
Sarah is a rare bird….. not only is she 100% comfortable in front of a camera and so totally at ease… she also loves Sex and The City (she is far beyond her years, people) and she had the idea to do a Carrie Bradshaw theme as part of her session…..and omg how much fun are these?!!!!
Just LOVE them!
We finished after dark – back at the Dollhouse – to incorporate some ballet-inspired shots (Sarah danced for many years)…. and we played on the “living doll” theme here…
Yeah, so this was a fun session for all of us…. but even if you don’t have access to a movie studio, we can make your Senior Portrait Experience a memorable one!!
Check out Sarah’s slideshow before you go, and make sure you’re on my calendar for Senior Portraits in Fall 2014 before it fills up!!! Email or call for details!
