I’ve known Betsy for a long, long time…. I won’t say exactly how long…. but let’s just say it was definitely in the 90’s….so yeah.   We had some great times back in the day, and I’ve always been in awe of her independence and confidence…..and she was the only person outside my own family who I trusted to babysit Reece when he was born!   Needless to say, I was absolutely delighted to shoot her and Brian’s wedding!!

Betsy is a Coroner.   Yep.. you read that right.  This woman definitely walks her own path. {and I love that about her}   So it’s only fitting that their wedding take place at the Wee Kirk O’The Heather church at Forest Lawn cemetery…. it’s like a mini Game of Thrones church – seriously, the cutest little church ever.  (I love it and wish Andrew and I had known about it way back when!)    Since it’s small, though, they opted for a more intimate wedding with close friends/family and then a next day, super fun reception at Duke’s in Malibu…. luau themed of course, since Betsy is a Hula dancer extraordinaire!  (check out the hula dancing pics…. so fun – Betsy and her Hula Sisters performed for everyone there…. and she even performed a Hula especially for Brian which was insanely beautiful and special….really, it was amazing.)

I’m thrilled to share some of my favorites from both the ceremony and reception with you guys…

I love that Betsy and Brian giggled through most of the ceremony….

The next day at Duke’s was a BLAST!    So many sweet moments between bride and groom, and a father-daughter dance that brought ME to tears…..

here’s a slideshow of some more favorites:

and I have to end on this image of Betsy during her hula dance….it was super backlit because of the wall of windows behind her, so it just called for an ethereal/artsy edit 🙂 BBHula_LRWM-89

I love you, Betsy and wish you and Brian ALL the happiness in this life and the next….

    Renee,
These photos are awesome! You captured this beautiful wedding and reception with so much love and grace. This had to be so amazing in person! I remember Betsy from way back when, just didn’t realize it was her until I saw these pictures. What a beautiful couple they are. Your work is always so remarkable – I am so proud!
    Love, Mom
