I’m super excited to share PatriciaRose’s senior session with you guys today! She is another of my awesome 2019 model team members – and she is a blast so shoot with – we literally laugh pretty much nonstop lol!
We shot PatriciaRose’s session out in Malibu … I’m honestly not sure if this place is still standing today though :/ I saw that 83% of the Santa Monica Mountains federal land was destroyed in the Woolsey Fire just recently and I’m assuming the worst for this trail as well, since it is right in the heart of where the fire ravaged the canyon.
It’s just SO sad to me that so much is now burnt and I am really hoping we don’t get a ton of rain soon (although we obviously need it!) – because it will cause massive mudslides if that happens … California has had a really rough few weeks (North and South – the Camp Fire is downright devastating!). I was just in Santa Cruz this past weekend to visit my daughter at UCSC and the entire drive up there and back was so hazy I couldn’t even see the mountains in the background – the air quality is SO bad right now …..
But on the day we shot PatriciaRose’s session, it was absolutely perfect weather … and we had so much fun getting these images!
PatriciaRose is a Saugus High cheerleader – so we grabbed a few in her uniform 🙂 I’m always up for incorporating anything special that makes you YOU during your senior portrait session!
I love this close up shot because not only are her eyes AMAZING, you can really see Jami’s handiwork 🙂 She is always killing it on the hair and makeup game; I can’t believe we have been working together for 8 years! Jami is a SO good at what she does it’s just insane …. she can have my client in full hair and makeup in under an hour – which is just amazing and makes my job so much easier 🙂
I love the variety we got in PatriciaRose’s session – that’s one of my main goals in every session I shoot; to make sure the images don’t all look the same. I am here to tell the complete story of my client and I use movement to achieve that. Posing is consistently one of the hardest things to nail for senior portrait photographers – I hear it all the time in my mentor sessions. But movement brings life to the images – even small movements can create a whole different vibe!
We drove over to my little favorite secret beach after the hiking trail to get some sunset shots – and we had a beautiful sky! These are some of my favorites for sure.
From what I can tell on the fire map, this beach is probably fine … a lot of the beach areas are, thankfully; however, I am anxious to drive up there and see what is left of one of my favorite places 🙁
The sun set on a gorgeous day and I couldn’t be happier with the images we got! If you want a session like PatriciaRose’s, let me know!
My calendar is getting pretty crazypants, by the way – so if you are hoping to get your senior portraits done in the Spring, you should contact me ASAP – use the form below and I will get right back to you!
And 2020 SENIORS – it is now time to start thinking of YOUR session (or if you are interested in the model team, that info will be going out in December!). Either way – click HERE to sign up to make sure you get the info first (before I release it to the public). I am changing my model program up a bit this year and it will be a lot more exclusive – meaning, I’m only taking on 15 girls this year, but they will have the opportunity to participate in multiple campaigns with various brands and really step more into the micro influencer market.
The 2020 team will have an experience far more amazing than any of my previous model teams or clients – I’ve never offered anything like this before.
