Happy August!!  We are already in the swing of Class of 2021 senior portrait sessions and today I’m introducing you all to Riley! 

I’m so grateful that I’m able to still shoot outdoors and give these seniors a special and memorable experience since their senior year is not looking like it “normally” would.  They aren’t going back to in-person school yet, they are missing out on all the Fall fun that they’ve been looking to for years … it’s taking a toll on them.  I saw my 2020 seniors miss their graduations and proms and now 2021 is facing some not so fun realities … 

I’m going to do everything I can to make sure my clients and their families get something special to look forward to and remember 🙂 

Riley is a senior at West Ranch and she’s also on my 2021 Influencer Team!  We went down to Abbot Kinney and Venice Beach for Riley’s session, which is one of my favorite places to shoot senior portraits.  We have shot many many senior sessions down there and even now, during Covid, it’s still a great option for sessions.  

One of the reasons I like it so much is because there are SO many cute spots within a three block radius and I’m all about maximizing a location because we can spend more time actually shooting photos and not driving around trying to find cute spots. 

This first outfit is super special because Riley’s grandmother made this amazing top – it looks amazing on Riley, don’t you think?

Most of the other outfits like this one were styled by Flawless Exchange Boutique – a really cool subscription box service I’m using this year that my clients can order for wardrobe that is specifically curated for their senior session.  I recently had Heather, the owner, and stylist, on a youtube video discussing how photographers can use this for their own clients and sessions! 

I LOVE these pants against the Love Wall on Abbot Kinney Blvd and on the surrounding streets. 

This area is always a favorite of mine because of that blue wall … always photographs well no matter who I’m shooting, but Riley really looks amazing here.

ALL the clothing Heather sent photographed so killer in this setting, but I think our all-around favorite is this red Anthropologie top and those floral pants!!  SO gorgeous!!! 

I always send out a super in-depth What To Wear guide to my clients, but I’m in the process of revamping that entirely and I’m so excited to share it soon.  I will also have the template available for other photographers to use as well.

Jami kept Riley looking fresh and totally put together the entire time we were shooting – that’s one of the perks of shooting with me is that you get to have Jami there with you and change things up as we find new areas to shoot in.

And then we hit the BEACH … what was SUPER packed omg.  Like it’s always pretty packed there, but now since Covid, apparently everyone is always at every beach in Los Angeles lol.  So yeah, we had to be creative.  I even created an on the fly floral crown for her haha!

I’m still really happy with what we got and by the way, these are only a fraction of her final images – there are TONS more … too many for the blog 🙂  I’m sure she will be posting on her Instagram soon though and I can’t wait to see how her album looks – all my Influencer Team members get a 20-page custom designed gorgeous album included in their team experience, so now we get to decide what images she wants in there!  Stay tuned on my own Instagram to see how the final product looks!
