Say hello to 2020 #rbinfluencer Mackenzie!!Ā

Mackenzie wanted to go to Carpenteria for her senior session because she spent SO many summers there; it’s a really special place for her and for her family.Ā  I’ve been to Carp for a beach day here and there with my kids, but I definitely haven’t shot there … and didn’t know the little “inside” tips about where to eat and shop … and shoot!Ā  It was SUCH a fun day, though – and I absolutely love the images we got!!

Carpenteria isn’t a big area – it basically consists of one main street leading up to the beach and the cute little campground and neighborhood surrounding it.Ā  We parked at the end of the street and walked our way up ..shooting along the way.Ā  We had perfect SoCal weather and gorgeous backlighting (my fave!) and Mackenzie had the cutest black hat šŸ™‚

I just love her smile!Ā  She was up for anything – and we did a lot of walking and changing in a hot car lol!Ā Ā

All her outfits complemented the background so well – and yes, we HAD to shoot in front of the surf shop šŸ™‚

Cheer is a such a big part of Mackenzie’s life – so we definitely had to make sure we got a few images with her uniform and rings and medal šŸ™‚Ā  I love being able to incorporate the important aspects of my clients’ lives into their portrait sessions.

And then it was time to hit the beach – which in true California style, was gorgeous (as was Mackenzie).

I like to save the last one or two outfits for the beach when we shoot somewhere else first – it lends a different vibe and feel to the session and it’s also a great opportunity to mix up a long or short dress with pants or shorts.Ā  And we got to use the cute black hat again šŸ™‚

Sessions like these are my favorite – easy and fun!Ā  Great families and amazing infuencer team members … Mackenzie is truly incredible and I am so excited I got to work with her this year!Ā  Ā We’ve got more fun sessions coming up as well, so stay tuned to my Instagram and the blog – the holidays are my most favorite time to shoot with my girls šŸ˜‰

What a gorgeous senior. I love this session. Small tourist areas are the best. So cool she wanted to shoot there.

    5. Her senior portraits are beautiful!! I especially love how you managed to create such unique memories of her medal and rings from cheer. That is just priceless!

Thanks! I love doing this for my cheer girls – they spend so many years doing it and then once high school ends, it’s most often the end of their cheer “career” šŸ™‚
