Next up for Class of 2020 is Izzy!
(technically she is 2019 because she just graduated a YEAR EARLY, y’all :o)
I’m actually still in Nashville speaking at Conference Twelve, but I wanted to get Izzy’s blog out because I LOVED shooting this session with her!! We shot down at Abbot Kinney, which is one of my favorite spots in all of Los Angeles to shoot senior portraits!!
I love all the art down there and it’s super close to the beach, so it’s just an ideal location, especially when it’s super hot in Santa Clarita. The beach is always a nice change from that! And Izzy has such a distinct, cool style!
Izzy is also part of my Elite Level Influencer Team, so we’d already shot the mini model session in March and the makeup party in May and a few days after we shot this session, we did the Pool Party shoot. When I get to shoot with girls more often, it not only makes me happy because I love getting to know them, but it also makes the shooting part so much easier ….. once we’ve shot together a couple of times, we’re like old friends 🙂
I could shoot the entire session on the streets of Abbot Kinney, but with the beach so close, it just makes sense to drive down there in five minutes and get some sunset shots! This type of session is my three hour Experience session – so we have lots of time!
Jami did such a great job on Izzy’s makeup as well; it’s always fun when we have a client who loves makeup and is a little more adventurous 🙂
What’s also fun about Izzy’s session is that we were able to grab some in a cap and gown because she graduated a year early 😮 So we definitely had to grab some fun ones!!!
And yes, we shot these in an alley LOL! But I wanted the focus to be mainly on Izzy, so it works! And the LIGHT!
Izzy had this fun idea of joining in on the spay paint fun down on the Venice Beach boardwalk – there’s a bunch of grafitti walls that people spend all day painting. I’ve shot in front of these before, but I’ve never shot someone actually paiting lol – it was super fun!
We ran down to the water to grab the last little bits of light and ended the day with a little walk in front of the Venice sign – what a perfect day!!
Class of 2020, I just released dates for January – April of 2020, so those are now open for booking, as well as the handful of dates I have left for October and November of this year …. but those will go quickly now that school has started.
