This is Dallas – another one of my #rbmodel reps! She is one of the sweetest, most genuine girls! And her mom is just ridiculously fun too!
Jami had a blast doing her amazing head of hair and her makeup! Dallas is just light, this girl … pure light. It’s like she’s “new” to this world. Everything is bright and shiny to her and it’s pretty awesome being in her presence.
We shot her session in and around Abbot Kinney in Venice. This area has such an awesome street vibe. It’s full of cool walls with lots of bright color and textures. I am never disappointed when I shoot down there…. and even though I end up going there a LOT – the sessions are all a little different. Don’t be afraid to go to the same spot as someone else; we can make it unique and special to you!
Class of 2017, do you wanna have your own amazing senior session down here? I’d love to get you scheduled sooner, rather than later, so you can get some gorgeous custom designed announcements ordered in time for graduation. Give us a shout!
You know, you don’t have to drop thousands (or even hundreds) on your wardrobe when you shoot with me! Dallas was able to find killer stuff (hello, Free People stuff) at Wasteland – a really awesome thrift store here in LA. I know you WANT to go out and buy new stuff, but that’s not always feasible. So, check your local thrift stores and borrow stuff from friends! I LOVE thrifting with my teenage daughter – you never know what you’ll find.
OK, I just HAD to shoot in front of this wall … It is SO Dallas! This is one of the things I love most about what I do. It’s always amazing to find places that offer a glimpse into the heart and soul of my seniors.
These next shots were very special to Dallas. The heart she’s holding in her hand actually contains some of her dad’s ashes. She lost him when she was a little girl. This outfit and these images pay homage to him. I’m sure he would be proud of his little girl!
We ended up on the beach and, OMG, it could not have been a more GORGEOUS and PERFECT day! It was definitely a prime example of the perfect textbook California day. Keep scrolling … you’ll see what I’m talking about!
The water was wayyyyyy out, I’m talking super low tide. It was like glass! This is why I love shooting senior portraits at the beach in OCTOBER (late September – early November really) … the water was very calm and we were able to go way out there. I could have stayed out there all day. Well, I guess we DID stay out all day. As the sun started slipping down, the colors started to pop!
The further the sun went down, the better the color kept getting. Until, finally, the sun dropped below the horizon and all these incredible purples, blues, and pinks just came alive! It’s like the sky was showing off for us! Days like this are why I love living in LA.
OK, I know we’re just showing off now, but you have got to see the rest of her shoot! Here’s the slideshow of Dallas’ photoshoot. So much awesomeness…I can’t even…!

Class of 2018 ……
yeah, I said TWO THOUSAND EIGHTEEN … it’s your turn. I sign my senior models up in January (so NOW). Meetings are taking place this month but the first step in getting an invite is to fill out the model application –– only online till midnight on January 10th. I already have an insane amount of applications to go through … and I limit the number of people on the team — but don’t fret …. even if you decide the model team is not your thing, I still have some killer incentives for you to book your 2018 Senior Portrait Session EARLY.
