So happy to connect with you here! If you're a fellow neurospicy creative, I hope you appreciate the mish-mash of goodness I have here; it's a little nutty but I love it - hope you do too!
I’ve been photographing Sami since she was in 6th grade or so and I STILL can’t believe she is old enough for Senior Portraits! This is in part because my oldest son has been in her class since 6th grade (when we started at SCVi Charter) …. so this is all very strange for me!
Sami is super fun to shoot with because she doesn’t do ANYTHING half way. We actually rented a theater for the first part of this shoot …. theater/acting …. that’s her THING. And by “thing” I mean what her career will be. She will be attending Sarah Lawrence University in the Fall and I cannot wait to see where this amazing young woman goes in life!
These first images were totally “old hollywood” in theme. We drew inspiration from that time period and Sami, in true fashion, made sure her wardrobe for this was ON POINT.
This black dress was simply PERFECT and timeless on her! This, paired with the setting, created such a killer look – and I can’t wait to see these in her album. I also love how she changed the look up by changing the gloves and adding the hair piece ….. I love when clients are creative and think about these little nuances. It also helped tremendously that we had a theater tech with us that day who basically did whatever I asked with the lighting and the set lol (totally worth renting a theater for!)
Before we headed out, Sami wanted to get some shots in this amazing pink dress (SO princess-y) …. so we grabbed some on stage but I also had the idea to take some of her in the seats – as though she is watching a play and I LOVE the way these turned out!!! She used one on the cover of her announcement as well.
We left the theater and headed out to Griffith Park. I know of a cool little spot with lots of greenery that looks straight out of a fairy tale. Sami is all about a theme! We shot some fun ones of her in the pink dress there as well – and then she changed into her “Samantha” American Doll dress (I told she is all about a theme!) . These are super fun because the red pops off the background so well – the ones of her in the trees is SO “Into the Woods”! I really dig those.
Sami changed into her final outfit and we shot some at this spot as well – but then headed up to the overlook at Griffith Park for the La La Land inspired shots ….
We really had a blast creating this experience for Sami (and it was really special to have her Mom there as well). Totally worth the driving and the bug bites 🙂
How can we create an amazing experience for YOU? Drop me a line and let me know … I can’t wait to work with you!
