Meet Charity!
She’s one of my amazing Class of 2022 Influencers this year and this is her senior session. We shot her session here in Santa Clarita at Mentryville and we got some absolutely stunning images.
We were lucky enough to get the last bits of green here in Santa Clarita before the summer heat turns it all brown and we definitely made the most of our two-hour session time!
Mom and Dad were both part of our crew, as well as makeup artist extraordinaire Jami Cox and also Kailey Spiteri, who has been shadowing Jami as she completes her training to become a hair and makeup artist.
We worked with Flawless Styling Company for wardrobe because Charity had a specific vision for her session and Heather put some amazing outfits together for her. I absolutely love these snakeskin tights on her! These are so trendy right now – when I saw these on Charity’s mood board, I knew we had to do our best to try and find these.
All my clients are encouraged to send me at least three images they wish they were in and some send me a whole Pinterest board, which I love. This gives me a good idea about what they like in terms of images, clothing, etc.
As a senior photographer, I feel that it’s my job to bring my client’s vision to life – this isn’t my senior session 😊
This little blue dress was one of Charity’s own items she brought and it looks awesome on this wood background, as well as out in the field we shot in. Paired with black Dr. Marten’s, it’s the perfect summer fit.
I absolutely love how my seniors are still wearing docs! I mean … I wore these in high school and college (and I still do – you are NEVER too old for docs!).
If you’ve followed me for a while, you know that I’m a huge fan of sun flares and I always grab some bright backlit images – this is one of my faves! Charity has such natural confidence in front of the camera so I’m not gonna lie, she’s pretty easy to photograph!
She just naturally falls into my vibe when we’re shooting which is so fun as a photographer, I have to say. Most of my high school senior clients are not quite as comfy in front of the camera and that is totally normal! It can be so nerve-wracking putting yourself out there like that; it’s a very vulnerable spot to be in for sure.
But because I use a ton of movement in my photography, I find that does make it easier for my clients. When you’re moving and taking direction from me, it’s hard to really be in your head about anything 😜. And I move a lot WHILE I’m shooting lol which for sure is gonna make you laugh lol!
This outfit was SO cute on her and also fit the background perfectly. Mentryville has a pretty interesting history as a booming oil town back in the late 1800’s. Many of the original buildings stand and because it’s surrounded by mountains, it makes for a pretty picturesque location.
We have some pretty cool historical landmarks in Santa Clarita! I am not from here originally, so I’ve had to do my research and find the best little hidden spots for photoshoots.
One of the buildings is this schoolhouse (it’s not open to go inside, but the red against the blue sky is one of my favorite color combos). The white dress Charity is wearing is from my own style closet so it’s available to any high school senior client of mine to wear at their session. It looks amazing on her, don’t you think?
I could have shot this setup all day lol! SO gorgeous and thankfully, it was a pretty mild day so we didn’t have to deal with excessive heat (always a plus!).
These are just a few of my faves from Charity’s senior session; there are LOTS more that she will get as a member of my Influencer Team.
